When I'm running around shopping I use cash as opposed to credit cards or checks. As the cashiers hand me the change I drop it in the bottom of my bag or shove it in my pants pockets. Several years ago it occured to me to use that change for something good...so I started giving it to the Salvation Army. Every year at this time when they stand outside in front of selected stores where I shop I make sure I have a pocket full of change to drop into the little red bucket. If I don't then I pull ...

This holiday drink I made up years ago. Everyone loved it so I continued making it. Here's how to mix it up:

Ingredients:

2 liter bottle of 7-up

1 bottle of apple juice

ice to chill

optional: cinnamon stick

Simply add juice and 7-up together in a 2 quart pitcher and stir. Drop in a cinnamon stick if desired. Add ice cubes to chill. Enjoy. Note: It's a nice way to let the kids be a part of the celebration.

I've done this with my one year olds when teaching pre-school. It's a hand print wreath. It's as simple as tracing your childrens hand prints on a sheet of green construction paper. After you've traced a few dozen or so, cut them out. Next take a paper plate and cut out the middle. Once that's done you can glue all your "green" hand prints onto the paper plate making it look like a wreath. Afterwards you and the kids can decorate the wreath with whatever things you want. ...

When Rome was a great Empire ruled by Caesar Augustus and Israel was governed by King Herod, in the village of Nazareth lived Joseph and Mary. Joseph was a carpenter and Mary was a young virgin who would become his wife. Mary told Joseph of a dream in which she was visited by an angel who told her she had been chosen to bear the Son of God and his name was to be Jesus.

One day the emperor sent notice that all persons were to register for a new tax. They were instructed to return to the towns ...
