When I'm running around shopping I use cash as opposed to credit cards or checks. As the cashiers hand me the change I drop it in the bottom of my bag or shove it in my pants pockets. Several years ago it occured to me to use that change for something good...so I started giving it to the Salvation Army. Every year at this time when they stand outside in front of selected stores where I shop I make sure I have a pocket full of change to drop into the little red bucket. If I don't then I pull out a dollar or two. Even though I've been out of a job the last two christmas' I still make sure to have that change with me when I go out. I keep in mind there are those out in the world who are worse off than I am. My change just might feed, clothed or give someone a special gift.
